Our class just finished this recent release by Amy-Jill Levine. If you’re not familiar with AJ, you should be! She’s a professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies, and let’s just say I’d love to be in one of her classes! The next best thing is to study one of her books, and The Gospel of Mark is worth the read.
Levine brings a Jewish scholar’s perspective to the New Testament, and does so with both unique insight and a great sense of humor. This book provides great coverage of the Gospel of Mark. There’s an accompanying DVD (which I highly recommend) and Leader Guide.
The following lesson plans are hot off the presses as my class is covering the final (sixth) chapter this Sunday. I hope you find my facilitation guides useful. One way or the other, please let me know in the comments below!
