Darren Wilson runs Wanderlust Productions, a film production company that focuses on advancing God’s Kingdom around the world. Chasing a God You Don’t Want to Catch proved to be a thought-provoking book that touched on several aspects of God that initially troubled Wilson, as well as several of us in our class!
The book provoked several interesting discussions surrounding things like:
- The nature of Hell
- God’s approach to discipline
- God’s invisibility
- God’s silence
The final chapter is not to be missed, and is a good approach to 1 Corinthians 13.
We got through the book in eight sessions, doubling up on a few chapters. Sorry – there’s no leader’s guide for this book, but that’s why you’ve got my lesson plans! If you choose this study, let me know how it goes in the comments below.
Hi Mark, Holly and I enjoyed getting to know you and Ellen on the cruise! Thanks for sharing this site with me. I’m planning to finish up Adam Hamilton’s “Moses” book with our class, but this book looks interesting and I will check it out for our next study. Hope you both stayed healthy after that plane ride home (we did more or less).
Hey, Will. You and Holly certainly made the cruise that much better for Ellen and me as well. Thankfully, we also returned happy and healthy!
Let me know how “Moses” goes.
Mark is our Sunday School teacher and has taught these studies. Our class is diverse with our Spiritual backgrounds and Biblical knowledge. Mark stretches us with challenging and not traditional questions. It is a safe environment to share with a loving and not legalistic focus. Always looking at tradition but how to apply these studies in a post modern society. His incites would benefit classes who want to walk the Christian walk in the 2020s
