In looking back at past lessons, I came across Short Stories by Jesus which our class did about five years ago. As usual, AJ Levine’s reflections are just as applicable today as they were back then. You just can’t go wrong with her interpretations of the New Testament, and I’m sure Vanderbilt feels blessed to have her on their faculty.

Levine amazes me with her compelling insights on Jesus and his message for us today, all told from the unique perspective of an accomplished University professor and practicing Jew. To me, she is a true rabbi for Christians.

Our class just finished this recent release by Amy-Jill Levine. If you’re not familiar with AJ, you should be! She’s a professor of New Testament and Jewish Studies, and let’s just say I’d love to be in one of her classes! The next best thing is to study one of her books, and The Gospel of Mark is worth the read.
